Right To Be

Right To Be is working to build a world that's free of harassment and filled with humanity. They hold space for people experiencing harassment to share their stories for affirmation and support, they train people to respond to, intervene in, and heal from harassment, and they prepare new leaders to create safe and inclusive workplaces, schools, and communities. Right To Be developed the 5D bystander intervention methodology for supporting someone who is being harassed: Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay, and Direct. They founded the Allies Solidarity Network to bring together organizations that act against identity-based hate, discrimination, harassment, and violence. Network members raise awareness, amplify efforts, and collaborate on rapid response advocacy, education, and policy change. Right To Be, formerly called Hollaback!, is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and reinvests all surplus towards their mission.


Rika

Rika is a social enterprise that specializes in environmentally responsible maternity wear. They focus on providing employment opportunities to rural women from low income families and have established a production house in Ambanpola, a remote area of Kurunegala district. In order to minimize their environmental impact, Rika does not use polythene for clothing tags or packaging and has transitioned to natural textiles that are biodegradable, cruelty free, and vegan. They have also worked with a group of mothers facing financial difficulties to create a new line of bags and accessories using the fabric scraps from their maternity wear. All proceeds from these bags and accessories go directly to the women that made them.


Riococo

Riococo manufactures highly specialized coco-peat growing media for hydroponic green houses, vertical farming, urban gardening, rooftop gardening, and open field farming. Their starter blocks, plugs, grow bags, and bricks are OMRI Listed for organic cultivation. Riococo sources coconut husks from organic producers in Sri Lanka, dries them with solar heat, and processes them in facilities with ISO 14001 certified environmental management systems. The husks are considered a waste product from Sri Lanka's organic coconut oil and coconut water industries. Riococo soilless growing medium can reduce water use by up to 90% in commercial green house operations. At the end of the growing cycle, green house coco-peat can be used for parks, gardens, and open field farming. For home users, the medium naturally breaks down and improves the health of the soil. Riococo has branch offices and distributors in 50 countries across six continents.


Ripple Learning

Ripple Learning offers corporate training and workshops and uses all profits to fund free mental health services for young people in Australia. Their experienced facilitators and mediators deliver highly customized onsite or online programs to address known issues within organizations and help teams manage conflict, strengthen wellbeing, and boost performance. All profits are given to youth mental health charities that help young people talk about their mental health and work through the issues and obstacles that are holding them back. The aim is to have a ripple effect across society, giving both employees and young people the skills and support to address the tough stuff and achieve their potential. Ripple Learning is a member of the Social Enterprise Council of NSW & ACT (SECNA).

People seeking opportunities can create a free profile to access matchmaking services and connect with other Ripplers.


Rise

Rise is an Italian restaurant and guesthouse on the southern coast of Sri Lanka that is committed to supporting the local community. The restaurant hires people from the surrounding area and trains them to work in a professional kitchen. Rise specializes in brick oven pizza and Italian food made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients including creamy burrata and buffalo mozzarella. All drinks are made in house. Rise provides free drinking water to all customers and does not sell plastic bottles. The team recycles their own waste and participates in the weekly Weligama beach cleanup organized by Freedom Surf School.


Rising Woman Interfaith Women Collective

Rising Woman - Interfaith Women's Collective is an initiative that emerged from the women's wing of Center for Peace Building and Reconciliation. It provides livelihood support for disadvantaged and war-affected women of different faiths. The platform creates a safe space for women from different faiths to connect with each other, explore creativity and celebrate womanhood. Profits from bedspread and handicraft sales are reinvested to support the initiative.


Riso Scotti Organic

Riso Scotti started in 1860 in Italy with a focus on local rice farming and milling. Six generations later, they have expanded to a wide range of value-added, primarily rice-based products and distribute in more than 60 countries. They offer a healthy organic range based on integrated, fully traceable supply chains. Popular products include vegan organic rice milk, oat milk, almond milk, and rice-based meals and snacks. Riso Scotti is committed to environmental responsibility and invests in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green public spaces.


Rivaayat

Rivaayat is a social initiative by the students of Shri Ram College of Commerce to empower artisans and sustain and revive dying art forms. They work with craftspeople to incorporate contemporary designs, provide them with a platform to showcase their skills, and directly connect them with buyers. Their initial focus is terracotta pottery. Rivaayat raises awareness about the health and environmental benefits of using terracotta and partners with traditional terracotta artisans to produce cookware, serveware, jugs, water containers, tea sets, light holders, oil burners, and other housewares. Revenue is reinvested to support artisan groups. Rivaayat is part of Creative Dignity.


RivAgro

RivAgro is farming 35 acres of land near Embilipitiya in Sri Lanka. The land had been abandoned for six years. Now they are using organic and regenerative agricultural practices including cultivation of live fences, maintenance of naturally forested areas, and compost production to enrich soil health. They are producing a diverse mix of crops with a focus on local fruits, vegetables, and spices. RivAgro is committed to the wellbeing of the farm workers and surrounding community. They are developing a purified drinking water system for the local area.


Riviera Resort

Riviera Resort offers environmentally responsible accommodation and dining along the Kallady Batticaloa lagoon on Sri Lanka's east coast. The property was developed as an aboretum since 1981, and now contains more than one hundred species of trees and plants and many varieties of birds. They were one of the first hotels to develop a biogas plant to digest kitchen waste and provide cooking energy. Garden waste is used for compost or is turned into charcoal through pyrolysis and mixed with the biogas slurry to produce biochar. The compost and biochar are used onsite to grow fresh produce using organic techniques. The restaurant sources as many ingredients locally as possible. They offer free drinking water refills and have phased out plastic straws. Riviera Resort is solar powered and has the first electric vehicle charging port in Batticaloa. Local organizations and government department often bring groups to the site to raise awareness and demonstrate environmentally responsible practices. Profits are used to improve operations and services, provide staff training and benefits, and support the development of local schools. Riviera Resort is a member of the local hotel owners association and the beach cleaning community.


Rize Jewellery

Rize Jewellery produces fair trade jewelry, provides regular work for marginalized artisans in Jaipur, and supports children in need. Their necklaces, earrings, rings, anklets, bracelets, and cuffs are handcrafted from recycled sterling silver and responsibly sourced gemstones. Rize Jewellery's artisan partners are members of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO). They pay fair wages, maintain safe working conditions, provide basic healthcare, and assist with education for artisans' children. Rize Jewellery donates 10 percent of each sale to two children's charities in India, Jagruthi Trust and Freedom Foundation.


Rizer

Rizer manufactures textiles and T-shirts from recycled PET plastic bottles. More than 300 billion PET plastic bottles are produced each year and more than 80 percent end up polluting the environment and harming marine and land animals. Rizer aims to help reduce landfill waste and improve the income and wellbeing of waste collectors. They purchase, wash, sterilize, and grind PET plastic into flakes. These flakes are converted to polymer chips, yarn, and eventually fabric and finished textile products. The recycling process uses 30 percent less water and 45 percent less energy than production with virgin raw materials. Rizer uses Oeko Tex certified dyes and partners with local groups on coastal cleanups and reforestation initiatives.


Rizq

Rizq aims to sustain human life and help fulfill human potential by creating a network of social businesses working to end hunger, malnutrition, and food waste in Pakistan. They create livelihood opportunities for low-income and disadvantaged groups while increasing access to a stable supply of healthy local food. Their flagship Rizq Bachao program rescues food and redistributes it to people in need through a network of food banks and nonprofit partners. Rizq Mega Kitchens are community-based kitchens that supply affordable, nutritious food to other programs including Rizq Khana food cart franchises for microentrepreneurs and Rizq Dastarkhawan and Rizq Daig free communal meals. Rizq supports small-scale farmers through regenerative agriculture training, microfinance loans, and other resources and services. They also engage in emergency response, advocacy, youth mobilization, education, and research. Rizq is registered as a not-for-profit organization under the Punjab Trust Act. They reinvest all profits towards their purpose.


RNR Naturals

RNR Naturals was started by a new mother looking for products that were safe, all-natural, and planet friendly for her child. This journey led to the development of a handcrafted moisturizer that is safe enough to be used on children from birth but can also be used by adults to reduce acne, signs of aging, and scarring. RNR Naturals aims to raise awareness about the additives in conventional skincare and make it easier for people to access natural alternatives. They ensure all packaging is recyclable and offer incentives for customers that return empty containers.


Roar Media

Roar Media produces content in Sinhala, Tamil, Hindi, Bengali, and English that explores the diverse lifestyles, cultures, and issues that shape South Asia. Their guiding principles are to remain unbiased, dive deep into topics to provide a complete and comprehensive picture, and break down complex issues through features, videos, and photo essays. In addition to offering free content through their online media platform, Roar also offers content creation services including video, animation, articles, press releases, infographics, social media graphics, website design, event coverage, and native advertising. They specialize in local language outreach.


Robin Hood Army

Robin Hood Army aims to eliminate hunger and food wastage globally. They collect fresh surplus food from restaurants and deliver it to the segment of society that is in need. The Robin Hood Army operates through self-sustaining chapters who look after their local community, and in the process, inspire people to give back to those who need it most.


RoboFit

RoboFit uses cutting edge technology to redefine rehabilitation and help clients with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions explore new possibilities in their recovery journeys. Their rehabilitation centers combine exercise physiology and physiotherapy with Australia’s first neuro-controlled exoskeletons. This assistive technology can help people with spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and other conditions remap neural pathways and restore motor and sensory function. RoboFit was inspired by lived experience and co-creates services with its community. They offer reduced rates for low-income groups and reinvest profits into research and expanded services.


Rockridge Venture Law

Rockridge Venture Law aims to practice law in a way that positively impacts the environmental and social fabric of their community. They focus on "building today's companies for tomorrow's economies" by providing corporate, intellectual property, and technology law specific to the needs of innovative entrepreneurs, benefit corporations, social enterprises, and other responsible businesses. This includes support for alternative business structures, environmental and social impact certifications and compliance, corporate governance, ESG capital markets, impact investment, and contract negotation. Rockridge Venture Law gives 10 percent of their time for pro bono legal services and donates 10 percent of their revenue to not-for-profit organizations working for environmental stewardship and social impact. They are a certified B Corporation and a member of 1% for the Planet.


Rocy Farm

Rocy Farm raises cows according to free range standards and sells milk and cow dung in their local community. The cows spend the day on adjacent pasture land with adequate natural vegetation and the night in a protected home garden. Rocy Farm works with Sri Lanka Human Development Foundation to promote natural farming techniques and reduce carbon emissions. They are verified free range under a local participatory guarantee system (PGS).
