Their secondary line is made from fabric remnants from local apparel factories. The fabric scraps from their main line and secondary line are used to create shoes and accessories. Gaya by Gayendri also collects empty glass bottles from the community and decorates them for reuse.

It started in 1973 in Switzerland with the "banana women," a women-led movement for fairer global trade, and became a trading company in 1998. They work with subsidiaries and partners to directly source organic fresh and dried fruits, nuts, chocolate, coffee, tea, spices, and pantry items from family farmers in Burkina Faso, Togo, Brazil, Greece, Tunisia, Palestine, Brazil, and Mexico and meats, cheeses, and vegan alternatives from Switzerland. Fresh produce can be ordered in advance through their online shop and is sent seasonally when it is ripe and freshly harvested. Gebana provides training in organic farming, supports certification, and invests in local processing and packaging. In addition to paying fair trade and organic premiums, Gebana gives 10 percent of the sales price in their shop back to farming families. Profits are shared equally with employees, customers, and shareholders. Gebana is certified organic according to European Union and Swiss standards. They are a guaranteed fair trade member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) and a member of SENS Suisse, Social Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland (SEND), Swiss Fair Trade, Das Good Food Collective, and Climate Alliance Switzerland.
Gecko Restaurant & Rooms offers food and beachside accommodation in Arugam Bay. The team is passionate about using fresh, local, and natural ingredients with no margarine, MSG, or other additives. Everything from ice cream to bread is made in-house. They source line-caught fish, lagoon prawns, crab, and local lobster and mussels from small artisanal fishing boats and produce from local farmers. The Gecko shop features fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade chutneys, jams, nut butters, bread, and baked goods, local organic products, and a bulk section with nuts, seeds, and dried fruit. As part of their commitment to minimizing waste, they sterilize and reuse glass bottles and upcycle fabric scraps into pillow cushions and candle wicks. Gecko contributes to the surrounding community by hiring and training local staff, providing financial management and planning support, and donating to local causes like the Arugam Bay Surf Association.

Getwater.lk is a free online platform and digital map that makes it easy to find and share water refill locations in Sri Lanka. This enables travelers to choose water refills and avoid single-use plastic. Getwater.lk users can add water refill locations to the map and click the “I refilled here” button to help measure collective impact. An estimated 7 liters of water, 162 grams of oil, and 100 grams of carbon dioxide is saved with every refill. Getwater.lk is a nationwide initiative developed by Waste Less Arugam Bay and designed by Colombo Design Studio.
