Southwest Creations

Southwest Creations provides domestic contract manufacturing and industrial sewing services to alleviate poverty and build economic and educational opportunity across generations. Since 1994, they have provided dignified, living wage employment to women from low-income communities in Albuquerque while improving access to education for employees and their families. Southwest Creations offers cut-and-sew, handwork, kitting, assembly, packaging, and fulfillment services to local and national companies that want to free up floor space for higher return activities or reshore production for greater resilience and sustainability. Employees benefit from onsite childcare, paid School Involvement Leave, and onsite and offsite programs to improve their English, prepare for the GED, build facilitation skills, and participate in leadership opportunities. They have developed Hacia, a family engagement program for K-12 college readiness, and supported the development of the Social Enterprise Center, a public-private partnership in Albuquerque’s South Valley. Southwest Creations is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and reinvests all surplus towards their mission.


spaceCRAFT

spaceCRAFT is an interior design studio that prioritizes environmental responsibility and the local economy. They collaborate with small-scale local manufacturers, craftspeople, and artisans to create upcycled furniture and housewares from sustainably sourced materials and salvaged landfill waste. Their Putasit ottomans are made from used tires with removable covers made from excess factory fabrics and locally sourced handlooms.


Space to Grow

Space to Grow offers personalized coaching and counseling to help people increase self awareness, make sense of the past, build resilience and resourcefulness, clarify purpose and values, explore possibilities, and improve emotional and mental wellbeing. Their team of qualified professionals also supervises counselors and coaches and provides training on how childhood trauma and neglect affects brain and sensory system development. Space to Grow provides services irrespective of ability to pay. They work with the Memusi Foundation in Kenya to provide free coaching and support teachers to develop school improvement plans in the Magadi region. Space to Grow has Social Enterprise Mark accreditation.


Spara Foods

Spara Foods helps women from female-headed households and low income communities develop their own food enterprises. The women entrepreneurs focus on serving fresh and healthy Sri Lankan food made from locally sourced ingredients including heirloom rice, rice flour, and unrefined natural sweeteners. Spara is committed to environmental responsibility and uses washable ceramic dishes to reduce waste.


Spare Harvest

Spare Harvest is a global online community of people who want to live a more sustainable life. Members connect with each other to share, swap, sell, or source spare resources. Marketplace categories include fresh food, homemade food, food services, leftovers, kitchen equipment, kitchen waste, plants, animals, soil improvers, garden equipment, land, time, knowledge, and other garden help. Spare Harvest is free to individuals, and anyone anywhere can join and participate. Local communities can use the online marketplace to support a sharing, circular economy, reduce waste, and strengthen food systems in the area.


Spatz in der Hand

Spatz in der Hand helps social enterprises, nonprofits, associations, and public institutions spread social and ecological messages through affordable, environmentally responsible video production. They reduce resource and energy consumption by recycling existing media and guiding customers to create content using a phone or digital camera. Spatz in der Hand edits this content and adds animation, music, and stock footage to create new videos. They operate out of a circular coworking space, minimize waste, bank with Tomorrow, and offset carbon with atmosfair. Spatz in der Hand promotes sustainable film production through articles, interviews, speaking events, workshops, and consulting services. They are part of Creatives for Future Deutschland, Social Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland, and Impact Hub Berlin.


SpaZa Gift and Home

SpaZa Gift and Home designs and produces functional fair trade housewares and creates community employment in South Africa. They offer reusable dish covers, food storage bags and wraps, cleaning cloths, napkins, and table decor made from South African cotton and certified organic cotton. SpaZa focuses on handcrafted, low-impact production techniques like hand-knitting and air-dried hand-screenprinting to minimize energy consumption and reusable products that reduce waste. Due to the lingering impacts of apartheid, many producers in South Africa live far from city centers. SpaZa partners with these local producers to create job opportunities within their own communities. Their distributed home-based production system and streamlined weekly collection rounds prevent daily commutes, improve wellbeing, and reduce fuel consumption and emissions. SpaZa is a Fair Trade Federation verified member and is certified Women Owned by WeConnect International.


Specialisterne Australia

Specialisterne Australia expands employment opportunities for autistic and neurodivergent people by helping employers understand, value, and integrate their unique perspectives and skills. They specialize in inclusive recruitment, neurodiversity training and education, workplace support, and strategic advisory services for creating neuroinclusive workplaces. Their neurodiversity hiring programs remove barriers for neurodivergent candidates and enable employers to see the breadth of their capabilities. All services to job seekers are free of charge. Specialisterne Australia is a Social Traders Certified Enterprise and part of the Specialisterne Global Network. They are a registered not-for-profit organization and reinvest all surplus towards their mission.


Special Minds IT

Special Minds IT was established in 2004 to create employment opportunities for people on the autism spectrum and provide high quality software testing, automation, data management, and web accessibility services for companies across all sectors. Their neurodiverse team members have strong technical skills, unique cognitive abilities, and excellent attention to detail. Special Minds IT maintains workspaces in Aarhus, Silkeborg, Aalborg, and Kolding adapted to the needs of their team and employs project managers to support communication with clients. They are a registered social enterprise (RSV), a not-for-profit company under Den Sociale Udviklingsfond (SUF), and a member of Sociale Entreprenører i Danmark.


Spectrum Designs

Spectrum Designs custom prints apparel and promotional products and creates meaningful and inclusive employment and vocational training opportunities for people on the autism spectrum. Services include screen printing, embroidery, heat transfers, direct-to-garment printing, graphic design, post-production fulfillment, and drop shipping. Spectrum Designs enables people of all skill sets and abilities to flourish, improve self-confidence, make friends, gain independence, earn a paycheck, and more. They use renewable energy, LED lighting, environmentally responsible inks, soy-based cleaners, compostable apparel bags, and corrugated boxes certified by the Sustainable Forest Initiative. Spectrum Designs partners with The Nicholas Center to ensure all staff have the support of educational specialists who can help with behavioral and personal goals and real-world job skills. They are registered as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and reinvest all profits towards their mission.


Spectrumite

Spectrumite provides peer mentoring and personalized support to help individuals on the autism spectrum foster self-reliance, overcome challenges, and achieve success in social interaction, education, and employment. They specialize in strengths-based peer support, nonverbal and verbal social skills training, sensory processing disorder (SPD) management, management of comorbid mental health conditions, and relationship skills and sexual health education. They also organize parent social groups, training, and respite. Spectrumite raises awareness through voluntary speaking engagements and provides subsidized programs and pro bono consulting to organizations and individuals seeking to build more inclusive workplaces, schools, and community settings. They provide an accessible and inclusive work environment through flexible work arrangements, sensory-friendly spaces, assistive technologies, workplace modifications, and leadership training to promote inclusion. Spectrumite actively participates in local networks to promote the participation of neurodivergent individuals in employment, education, and entrepreneurship.


Speedpak Contract Services

Speedpak Contract Services was founded in 1995 to offer contract packing and logistics services and help end long-term unemployment on Dublin’s Northside. They specialize in ecommerce fulfillment, packing and co-packing, repackaging bulk products, kitting and assembly, barcoding and labeling, logistics management, and customized fulfillment services. Speedpak Contract Services offers work experience, accredited industry-led training, mentoring, and tailored support for people with social and economic barriers to employment including people with limited formal education and people in recovery. They also offer short-term programs for secondary school students and asylum seekers awaiting work permits. Speedpak Contract Services uses recycled cardboard fillings, prioritizes electric vehicle logistics services, and invests in energy-efficient lighting, solar panel installation, and carbon monitoring. They are a member of Social Enterprise Republic of Ireland (SERI) and Social Finance Foundation.


SpiceLab by Ceylon

Spice Lab by Ceylon focuses on value added sauces and spreads to promote healthy living and prevent agricultural waste in Sri Lanka. They source materials directly from small-scale rural producers. Popular products include soursop spread, passion fruit jam, and jam, chutney, and barbecue sauce made from nutmeg pericarp. Spice Lab by Ceylon is a member of Green Map Sri Lanka, a volunteer-driven environmental organization.


Spice Mate

Spice Mate specializes in all-natural roasted curry mixes in biodegradable packaging. The spices are directly sourced from small-scale, environmentally responsible rural suppliers. Spice Mate is a product range from Esther Lanka, a social enterprise that works in rehabilitation centers, orphanages and slum communities. They focus on helping at-risk youth and young mothers from underprivileged families become self-sustainable through knowledge sharing, training, and market opportunities.


Spicy Pot

Spicy Pot works with underprivileged women to grow spices in their home gardens, dry them, and process them into natural powders and blends. The additional income increases their financial independence. Products include chili, turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon, and curry powder. Spicy Pot aims to keep their products affordable and encourages customers to bring their own containers and buy in bulk to reduce waste.


Spicy Treats

Spicy Treats focuses on providing affordable Sri Lankan food made from organic and sustainably sourced ingredients. Products include milk rice, coconut roti, manioc, coconut sambol, pork curry, mutton curry, fish ambulthiyal, and fresh fruit juices. Spicy Treats donates 10 percent of their profits to IMCD's Needy Readers project.


Spinner

Spinner aims to spread the love of cycling for fun, fitness, and environmental responsibility. They offer a cycling cafe, bike rentals, servicing, and repairs. Spinner also organizes cycling classes, events, tours, races, and fundraisers. They support Wheels for Wheels Foundation, which raises funds to purchase wheelchairs for children with cerebral palsy, and ReWheel Sri Lanka, which collects and refurbishes donated bikes and donates them to children in need.


Split Banana

Split Banana helps young people have healthy relationships with their minds, their bodies, and each other. They are reshaping Relationship, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) by running creative workshops with young people, training educators, and consulting with schools and community organizations that want expert advice on their RSHE provision. Split Banana is supporting the shift to sex education that reflects the lived realities and identities of students from all walks of life. They work with educators to facilitate open conversations with students in a safe and constructive way. By placing empathy and activism at the heart of their approach, they are working towards more equal relationships filled with consent, respect, and pleasure throughout society. Split Banana uses a sliding scale payment model to ensure everyone can access their services. They are a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) and a member of Social Enterprise UK and the Sex Education Forum.


SPM Foundation

SPM Foundation uses cutting-edge technology and engineering expertise to deliver innovative solutions, drive positive change, and create a more inclusive and sustainable future. They employ talented young software, electronics, mechanical, and business development professionals in eastern Sri Lanka and offer a range of services related to design, website and app development, internet of things (IoT), 3D modeling, printed circuit boards, artificial intelligence, data science, and more. SPM Foundation has produced business software systems, plastic recycling machines, IoT-based hydroponic systems and biogas systems, bikes for children with special needs, and more. They reinvest in research and development, community events, and supporting initiatives that address local needs, including educational programs, healthcare services, infrastructure development, and environmental conservation efforts.
