Seeds & Stories uses regenerative fashion as a tool to promote gender equality, community development, and environmental regeneration in Bigodi, a rural village in western Uganda. Products are made from natural fibers that are responsibly harvested from the surrounding area including bark cloth from the mutuba tree, banana fiber, papyrus stems, palm leaf, millet straw, and raffia. They prioritize harvested rainwater, plant-based natural dyes, and raw materials that have regenerative properties in local ecosystems. Seeds & Stories provides vocational training programs, literacy classes, and training on permaculture design and regenerative agriculture. They are registered as a community-based organization and reinvest all surplus into social and environmental community projects.
Seeds to Sew International is a fair trade not-for-profit organization that aims to improve the lives of women and girls in disadvantaged communities through education and job skills training. Their retail outlet and online store feature unique gifts, clothing, accessories, and housewares made by program participants in Kenya and partners from around the world. They are best known for their Enkiteng bag, an ecofriendly reusable gift wrapping bag that is made in Kenya from upcycled material. Seeds to Sew also offers Enkisoma Masaii beaded jewelry, Githomo crafts made from banana tree bark and other natural materials, and Kiondos baskets made out of recycled plastic. One hundred percent of proceeds are reinvested to support participating communities and cover school fees, transport, uniforms, and supplies for girls in rural Kenya that would not otherwise be able to continue their education. Seeds to Sew International is a member of the Fair Trade Federation, the Green Business Network of Green America, and Girls not Brides and is registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Seelas aims to preserve Sri Lanka's food heritage and provide local, natural alternatives to imported processed snacks and sweets. They use healthy unrefined oils and unrefined natural sweeteners with a low glycemic index to produce traditional treats like aluwa, aggala, thala guli, pol dosi, konda kevum, mung kevum, kokis, asmi, and athirasa. All products are vegan and made with sustainably sourced local ingredients like rice flour, coconut oil, kithul palm syrup, coconut palm syrup, grated coconut, sesame, cashew, and spices. The coconut and rice flour comes from Sandhalankawa, and the kithul syrup and spices come from villages in Gampola and Kandy. Seelas organizes regular cleanups of parks, walking paths, and public areas with friends, family, and neighbors and donates a portion of profits to provide food packs to people in need.

They specialize in toxin-free, plastic-free cleaning products that are attractive, easy to use, long lasting, compostable or biodegradable, and made from natural, renewable materials. Seep offers cellulose sponges with loofah scouring pads, organic cotton tea towels, compostable bin liners, and more in Forest Stewardship Council certified packaging. They partner with On A Mission to measure their carbon footprint, continuously work to reduce it, and offset what remains. Seep is a climate positive business. For each kilogram of carbon they emit, they contribute to carefully selected forest regeneration projects to remove 3.5 times that amount.
See Sow supports mental and emotional wellbeing and conscious living through mindful and interactive kids' clothing. Product designs were created with expert guidance on color psychology and child development and include activities to help children talk about their emotions, practice positive affirmations, and develop mindfulness. See Sow is committed to fair wages, gender equity, and transparent supply chains and uses recycled and natural fabrics, low impact azo-free dyes, and compostable tags and packaging. They support Bhavyadev, a local nonprofit, and actively participate in road safety seminars, menstrual health workshops, and food, clothing, blanket, and sanitary pad donation drives. Seilich was founded by a botanist and produces nature-positive natural skincare and herbal teas using ingredients grown in their wildflower meadow in Scotland. They handpick wild plants, extract hydrosols and essential oils through distillation, produce oils through infusion and maceration, create powders from dried plants, and produce cleansers, moisturizers, face oils, toners, serums, masks, and lip balms. Seilich works with native and naturalized species that have proven therapeutic properties, can grow without human intervention, and benefit local wildlife. They produce 80 percent of their ingredients on-site and preferentially source the balance from natural and organic growers in the United Kingdom. Products are made using low-carbon cold process methods and are packed in reusable and recyclable glass, aluminum, and cardboard. Wildflowers sequester carbon, increase biodiversity, and improve soils. Seilich uses their profits to create more wildflower meadows. They are a member of the UK Business and Biodiversity Forum, the British Ecological Society, and the Sustainable Beauty Council. Seilich is certified Wildlife Friendly.
SELCO Foundation alleviates poverty and fights climate change by creating and strengthening ecosystems for decentralized sustainable energy solutions in India and globally. This energy access ecosystem includes five enabling conditions: innovation, finance, skills and capacity building, backward and forward linkages, and policy. SELCO India was started in 1995 to deliver last-mile sustainable energy solutions that improve quality of life and socioeconomic development for the poor. They facilitate appropriate financing and sell, install, and service decentralized energy products through branches in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh. SELCO offers solar home lighting, solar water heaters, and solar inverters for basic energy access and DC appliances that support livelihoods like roti rolling machines, grinders, sewing machines, pottery wheels, milking machines, blacksmith fan blowers, and photocopy printers. They also provide street lighting, digital education tools, power and equipment for primary health centers, and energy solutions for schools, orphanages, and other institutions. SELCO trains and hires local youth to maintain solar systems in rural areas. Sellamuthu Flour sources local ingredients and produces whole grain kurakkan millet flour, ulundu black gram flour, red rice flour, and white rice flour for the local market. They provide a healthy, affordable alternative to imported white wheat flour for people living in the Batticaloa area.
Selyn supports more than 1,000 rural women and is the only Fair Trade guaranteed handloom company in Sri Lanka. They produce an export quality range of handloom clothing, toys, housewares, and accessories. Selyn is also committed to environmental responsibility. Their dye facility produces waste water that is so clean that it’s used for an onsite flower and vegetable garden. They also have a recycling program and make a unique range of products from threads and offcuts.
Sena Eco Shoes has developed a unique line of comfortable shoes with areca leaf (kolapath) soles. Their shoes, bags, and other accessories are made using natural materials and cotton handloom fabrics.
Senani produces organic fresh herbs, flowers, vegetables as well as homemade cheese, yogurt, kefir, jam, marmalade, and pickles at their guesthouse in Nuwara Eliya. Senani Bungalow is a 100-year-old planter bungalow that has been carefully renovated and fitted with modern amenities including solar water heaters. It has four rooms and can accommodate 10 guests. Kids can play with the rabbits and chickens, collect eggs, and pick vegetables for meals. The property is verified under an organic participatory guarantee system (PGS).

Sendero Specialty Coffee is a London-based coffee importer, roaster, and coffee house committed to direct sourcing. They explore remote coffee-growing regions and purchase high quality Arabica beans directly from local families and cooperatives. Priority is given to shade-grown coffee that is hand picked and processed in small batches. Sendero currently sources from producers in Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, and Uganda. The coffee from Peru and Uganda is certified organic. Sendero is known for their whole bean and ground coffee but also offers compostable coffee capsules.

Sensihemp develops innovative and regenerative solutions to overcome the current challenges in the textile industry and creates ethical vegan clothing, footwear, and accessories in Portugal from low-impact hemp. They chose hemp because it is a natural, fast-growing, highly renewable crop that repairs the environment throughout its growth cycle. It doesn't require synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers to grow, uses much less water and land than other natural fiber plants, sequesters carbon, and revitalizes the soil. Through research and local partnerships, Sensihemp has developed a soft local hemp and organic cotton fabric and a low-impact local production process.
