Serandib specializes in natural value-added food products to reduce food waste, support rural livelihoods, and increase year-round fruit and vegetable consumption. They source rambutan, mango, jackfruit, breadfruit, kohila, bitter gourd, gotukola and other fresh produce directly from rural families and produce dehydrated and bottled fruits and vegetables with no preservatives. Serandib aims to create employment opportunities for rural youth and give back to rural communities.
Serendib Chocolate is the first bean to bar artisanal chocolate made from Sri Lankan cocoa beans. Their mission is to link directly with small scale farmers to expand production of high quality local cocoa and support rural livelihoods. Serendib roasts at altitude in a small chocolate factory in the Sri Lankan hill country. A team of skilled local women handle the full process: roasting, cracking, winnowing, conching, tempering, and pouring into molds. Initial products include cocoa nibs, dark chocolate with unrefined brown sugar, and dark chocolate with kithul palm jaggery.
Serendip is a London-based social enterprise selling handmade, environmentally responsible housewares and accessories from Sri Lanka. They support artisans that practice traditional craft techniques and small businesses that use recycled and upcycled materials. Products are made from cinnamon, coconut shells, fiber, and wood, handwoven cotton, elephant dung paper, recycled newspaper, rice and spice sacks, traditional lacquer, and sustainably sourced wood. Serendip is committed to fair trade practices. They maintain long-term relationships and pay upfront for products. They donate to SOS Children's Village in Piliyandala and support elephant welfare and veterinary care for street dogs.
Serendip Boutique is a social enterprise that serves Sri Lankan Tamil refugees living in India and disadvantaged rural women in Tamil Nadu. They specialize in jewelry, bags, aprons, sari blouses, table linen, candles and other handmade products. This initiative provides a unique opportunity for refugees to give back to their host community. Sri Lankan women who have participated in livelihood development programs are now training rural women in 25 villages near Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu and helping to market their products under the name BTC (Be The Change). Proceeds are used to support 25 after-school tuition centers and additional livelihood training programs for women. Serendip Boutique partners with Organisation for Eelam Refugee Rehabilitation (OfEER) and Asthtva Foundation.
Serendipol was set up in 2007 with support from Dr. Bronner's to produce organic and fair trade certified coconut oil. They now work with more than 1,200 farmers and process 30 million coconuts a year into virgin coconut oil, coconut milk, coconut cream, coconut flour, coconut flakes and chips, and coconut water. All parts of the coconut are used. Husks are sold and processed into fiber for ropes, doormats, and erosion control, shells are burned to provide biomass energy or sold to produce charcoal and activated carbon, and the oil cake is sold for animal feed. Serendipol supports farmers to transition to regenerative organic methods that enrich the soil, promote biodiversity, improve yields, sequester atmospheric carbon, and increase resilience. Workers have opportunities for personal and professional development and enjoy conditions and compensation above the industry average. The fair trade committee, which includes farmers, workers, and management, has funded nearly 1,000 projects including initial subsidies for compost production, medical equipment for rural clinics, school renovation and vocational training for disadvantaged youth, home improvement grants, restoration of water reservoirs, rural infrastructure, and support for local community groups.
Serendip Strings is a not-for-profit organization providing a new creative outlet for Sri Lankan children experiencing hardship in the wake of civil war and natural disaster. They offer string instruments and lessons in eastern and western styles in a fun, friendly and nurturing space. Serendip Strings brings together children from Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and Christian families to participate in group lessons and ensembles.

Their toilet rolls are made in the United Kingdom from 100 percent recycled paper with no individual wrapping, no plastic, and no dyes, perfumes, or other unnecessary additives. Serious Tissues offers online subscription services, supplies restaurants, pubs, hotels, offices, and other wholesale customers, and plants a tree for every toilet roll sold. Tree planting is done through partner organizations that use native species and provide employment to people in need. Serious Tissues calculates their full business carbon footprint and offsets emissions according to international standards. Their tree planting program is in addition to their carbon neutrality and does not factor into the calculation. SERRV provides advance payments, consistent orders, and small grants for producer partners. They prioritize sea freight to reduce carbon emissions and use shredded cardboard shipping cartons as packing materials. SETU's network includes more than 10,000 artisans across 16 states of India that specialize in pottery, wood and bone carving, metalwork, basketry, bell making, handloom weaving, block printing, shibori dyeing, tailoring, embroidery, papier-mâché, and more. They prioritize natural and recycled materials and environmentally responsible processes. SETU ensures that artisans in all groups have access to fair wages, safe working conditions, social security schemes, and interest free loans for education, housing, and other needs. They provide additional social, economic, and environmental services through their not-for-profit organization, Society for Empowerment and Trade Upliftment of Artisans (SETU-Society). SETU is a member of Fair Trade Forum India and a guaranteed member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).
Sevalanka Foundation is a Sri Lankan development organization that works with rural communities throughout Sri Lanka. Seva Organic is a self-financing social enterprise that helps market products from organic producer groups. The program currently operates from Islander Organic Farm a residential training center near Wilpattu National Park. The communities around Islander are producing organic fruits and vegetables and free range eggs. They are certified under an Organic Participatory Guarantee System (PGS).

Seva Village Rest is a training center, farm, and guesthouse that was developed in the northern community of Vavuniya by Sevalanka Foundation, a not-for-profit development organization that works with rural communities throughout Sri Lanka. The restaurant serves food grown on the farm. Seva Village Rest hosts retreats, workshops, training programs, and community-based travel experiences. They can accommodate 85 people for residential programs and 100 for day programs. Seva Village Rests contributes to kids' education and provides livelihood support to people with special needs.

Seven Tea One has developed a specialized training and Employment Transition Program (ETP) to help young people with disabilities and young single mothers prepare for job placements and independence. Seven Tea One uses a portion of their revenue to supply free food to marginalized communities and people in need. They are an accredited social enterprise through the Malaysian Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC).

Sevvanthi Natural Farming Producer Group is a cluster of small-scale organic farmers in eastern Sri Lanka committed to growing affordable natural food and protecting the environment. They produce their own compost, liquid fertilizers, and biopesticides from locally available materials. Crops include dry zone vegetables, leafy greens, and legumes. Members also grow ginger, turmeric, cassava, banana, papaya, lime, guava, mango, and coconut. Sevvanthi Natural Farming Producer Group is verified under a local organic participatory guarantee system (PGS).

They are affiliated with the All India Movement for Seva, a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit initiative, and also support local women's organizations and organizations working to preserve the environment and indigenous cultural traditions globally. Sevya Handmade is a member of Fair Trade Federation.
SEWA Cooperative Federation works with collectives and cooperatives that are run by and for poor women to help them achieve full employment and self-reliance. The Federation emerged from the Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA), which began organizing for the rights of informal women workers in India in 1971 and registered as a national trade union in 1972. Alongside the struggle for rights was the need to earn a sustainable livelihood, so SEWA began promoting cooperative development across multiple sectors. In 1992, SEWA Cooperative Federation was established as a support system to help catalyze the growth of women-led, women-owned collective enterprises, including cooperatives for women farmers, artisans, service providers, traders, and savings and credit groups. The Federation assists with training, market access, business development, research and advocacy, communications, financial services, and digital inclusion. SEWA Cooperative Federation is a member of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI).
