Original Beans

Original Beans is a regenerative chocolate business that sources some of the rarest cacao beans from biodiversity hotspots around the world and contributes to their preservation. Their single varietal organic chocolates include Yuna from the Dominican Republic, Zoque from Mexico, Arhauco from Colombia, Esmeraldas from Ecuador, Cusco and Piura from Peru, Beni Wild from Bolivia, Udzungwa from Tanzania, and Virunga from Congo DR. Original Beans maintains direct, long term relationships with cacao farmers, pays above fair trade rates, and works with farmers to grow a tree for every chocolate bar sold. Original Beans is climate positive. Packaging for their chocolate bars is garden compostable, and in 2020, they introduced the world's first compostable couverture pack for hotel and restaurant supply. Their Preserve the Rare Foundation supports local conservation initiatives in cacao origin communities. Original Beans has created their own standard, Sourced As Original Beans, based on their quality, trade, and environmental practices that is now being used by other craft chocolate brands.

They assist with cultural mapping, developing cultural indicators, conducting cultural impact assessments, and recognizing cultural costs and cultural returns on investment. They also organize innovative "walkshops" with key local actors. Original's highlights responsible behavior through cultural sustainability labels and awards.


Original Source and Supply

Original Source and Supply is a carefully curated collection of clothing, accessories, housewares, stationery, and artwork born from a passion for travel and the discovery of new crafts and cultures. They are committed to conscious sourcing, fair trade relationships, and waste reduction. Their current range uses block printed organic cotton, waste fabric from the fashion industry, natural and non-toxic dyes, and recycled paper. Orikalankini

Orikalankini is changing narratives around menstruation and inclusive sexuality through art, theater, dialog, and connection. Instead of being something to "manage," menstruation is seen as a way to connect with our bodies and care for the earth. Orikalankini creates safe spaces to discuss menstruation and sexual health. They also offer internships, training of trainer programs, art-based menstrual education tool kits, online resources, washable cloth pads, trans inclusive menstrual cups, period charting artwork, bracelets, games, and comic books.


Orilka Plant Nursery

Orilka Plant Nursery grows ornamental plants with compost, coir dust, and no synthetic agrichemical inputs. They have tropical foliage, anthurium, ground orchids, begonias, hanging plants, and organic gardening supplies including coir dust, coconut husk chips, clay pots, organic fertilizer, and potting soil mixtures.


Ornaments 4 Orphans

Ornaments 4 Orphans sells fair trade handmade ornaments and supports global artisan groups that create jobs, fight poverty, strengthen families, empower communities, and ultimately prevent vulnerable children from becoming orphans. They specialize in Christmas ornaments, nativity sets, stocking stuffers, and other holiday decor made by artisans in Kenya, Uganda, Peru, and Nepal. Each handmade item highlights the traditional craftsmanship and native materials of the region where it is made. The fair trade artisan groups offer stable employment, which enables parents to provide food, housing, clothing, education, and medical needs for their children without placing them in institutional care. Ornaments 4 Orphans is a Fairtrade Federation verified member and a member of Chicago Fair Trade and the Christian Alliance for Orphans. They use all profits to support initiatives focused on family preservation and orphan prevention through business and poverty alleviation.


Oryana Community Co-op

Oryana Community Co-op was started in 1973 as a buying club for wholesome food and has evolved into a $16 million, 10,000 square foot cooperative business serving the Traverse City community and beyond. Oryana provides local, natural, and organic fresh produce, bulk goods, groceries, and wellness products at fair value to owners and the community. They were the first co-op in the United States to become a certified organic retailer. The Oryana Cafe serves as a community meeting space and performance venue for local musicians. Oryana owners and staff are committed to enhancing their community through cooperative economics, local sourcing, environmentally responsible practices, and education. Each year, they donate to dozens of local nonprofits including Food Rescue, a program that collects soon-to-expire fresh, healthy food and distributes it to food pantries, shelters, and community meal sites.


O Spray

O Spray offers natural mineral salt deodorant in Sri Lanka to support wellbeing and environmental responsibility. Their products provide skin-friendly, long-lasting odor protection with no petrochemical ingredients.


Osumita

Osumita specializes in herbal drinks based on Ayurveda and traditional Sri Lankan medicine. They offer home delivery of paspanguwa, belimal, ranawara, polpala, iramusu, kothala himbutu, venivel, and other medicinal herbs. Raw materials are sourced from small-scale farmers and from the government's Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation. In the future, they plan to source from farmers verified under the local organic participatory guarantee system (PGS).


OSU Plant Powders

OSU has developed a collection of local plant powder blends that harness the healing power of nature. Ingredients are sourced from Sri Lankan forest gardens and organic producers and hand-blended in small batches. The founders have a background in naturopathy, herbal medicine, and Ayurveda, and they have developed each blend to provide key phytonutrients, optimize immune function, support digestion, strengthen the nervous system, and enhance wellbeing from the inside out.


Otara Foundation

Otara Foundation focuses on environmental protection, wildlife conservation, animal welfare, education, and livelihood development in Sri Lanka. They have improved the lives of Sri Lanka's street dogs through Embark, an initiative started by Otara Gunawardene in 2007, championed the Animal Welfare Bill to protect domestic pets, animals in zoos, and wildlife, worked with partners on reforestation, conservation, and waste management initiatives, raised awareness about the health benefits of local rice, fruits, leafy greens, and medicinal herbs, and supported local artisans, startups, and environmentally responsible businesses. Otara Foundation partners with many other organizations in the Good Market community including Federation of Environmental Organisations, Environmental Foundation Ltd, Reforest Sri Lanka, Rainforest Protectors of Sri Lanka, and Adopt a Dog in Sri Lanka.


Otherly

Otherly uses oat milk to create creamy, plant-based chocolate and minimize environmental impact. Their chocolate bars, chocolate truffles, chocolate drops, and drinking chocolates are vegan and packed in recyclable packaging. They source chocolate couverture from Colombia to keep more wealth in the country of origin and finish the products in Edinburgh. Otherly is a certified B Corporation.


Ottan Studio

Ottan Studio develops circular materials to be used in sustainable interior design and industrial design projects. They collect agricultural, landscaping, and food waste from local producers, greenhouses, municipalities, and retailers, clean, dry, grind, and mix them with environmentally responsible resins, and inject them into molds to create sustainable biocomposites with the colors and textures of nature. Ottan materials can be used to produce decorative and structural panels, furniture, lighting, and other housewares without cutting a tree, quarrying stone and marble, or adding petrochemical colors. They reduce energy consumption and waste, prevent raw material extraction, and protect natural ecosystems.

They work with social enterprises and mindful businesses that are committed to using local, natural, and upcycled materials, supporting artisans and disadvantaged communities, paying fair trade wages and prices, and contributing to social and environmental causes. OurBetterPlanet helps their vendor partners access compostable and recyclable packaging materials like water-activated paper tape. Our Market is a fair trade company connecting artisans in the global south with individual and wholesale buyers in Europe. They partner with Papillon Marketplace in Haiti, UPAVIM Crafts in Guatemala and MaTé Sai in Laos to supply ethical housewares, garden products, and accessories, share artisans' stories, and educate the public about the benefits of fair trade. Our Market prioritizes products made from environmentally responsible upcycled materials like cereal boxes, oil drums, reclaimed wood, and fabric and natural materials like clay, cotton, indigo, and bamboo. Packaging is plastic free and made from recycled materials. As the company expands, Our Market is committed to providing employment opportunities for refugee women in Germany and contributing to the emergency medical funds their partners have established for artisans. Our Market is an associate member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).


Our Race Community

Outdoor Billboard Gallery

Outdoor Billboard Gallery transforms billboards into large-scale canvases to amplify remote and regional artists in Australia, promote cultural inclusion, and develop economic and cultural capacity in rural communities through art sales and tourism. Their free outdoor gallery showcases artwork by Indigenous and underrepresented artists from across the Northern Territory, Queensland, and Western Australia along a more than 100-kilometer stretch of the Outback Way in Central Australia. Audio tours are available for people with visual impairments. Outdoor Billboard Gallery also sells numbered limited edition prints of the artwork and billboards from past exhibitions. Out of the Box

Out of the Box is an artistic small-business offering creative handmade products made from recycled materials and factory off-cuts. The artist behind Out of the Box is an ecologist who is inspired by the natural world and aims to create environment awareness. Production is done by a network of women caregivers who are unable to work outside the home because they care for children, the sick or the elderly. Out of the Box collects empty bottles, tins, bulbs, old t-shirts and other waste materials for upcycling. Specialties include glassware, vases, sari, shawls, scarves, bags, clutches, totes, and other accessories and housewares. Packaging and shopping bags are made from fabric off-cuts, discarded newspaper and boxes.
